Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dengan Gerakan Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk (PSN) dan Survey Vektor DBD
Abstract
This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge and awareness of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) prevention through the Mosquito Nest Eradication Movement (PSN), vector surveys, epidemiological investigations, and early detection of DHF. The activity was conducted on August 29–30, 2026, at SMA Negeri 4 Manado, involving 60 students in collaboration with healthcare workers, Ranomut Community Health Center, the Manado City Health Office, and school representatives. The implementation methods included preparation, health education, vector surveys, follow-up actions, and evaluation. The educational materials covered the 3M Plus approach, identification of mosquito breeding sites, dengue transmission prevention, epidemiological investigations, and recognition of DHF symptoms and warning signs. The results showed that PSN education and vector surveys were conducted according to the planned topics. The survey found no mosquito larvae in potential breeding sites within the school environment, which was attributed to the dry season. This activity is expected to encourage students and school personnel to actively maintain environmental cleanliness and implement PSN measures sustainably.
