Responsibilities of Authors:

Reporting Standards
Authors of original research reports must provide an accurate account of the work undertaken, along with an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data should be accurately represented in the manuscript. A manuscript should include enough details and references to allow others to replicate the work. False statements or deliberately inaccurate representations are unethical and unacceptable.

Access and Data Retention
Authors are required to provide raw data related to the manuscript for editorial review and should be ready to provide public access to this data (in accordance with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Databases), where possible, and in any case must be prepared to retain the data for a reasonable period after publication.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cite any work or words from others that they have quoted or paraphrased.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications
An author should not, in general, publish a manuscript that describes essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others should always be given. Authors must cite publications that have influenced the nature of the work reported.

Authorship of the Manuscript
Those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported research should be listed as co-authors. Others who have contributed substantively to certain aspects of the research project should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. Authors must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included and that no inappropriate co-authors are listed. All co-authors must have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.

Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment with inherent hazards, the author must clearly identify this in the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest that could be interpreted to affect the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.

Significant Errors in Published Work
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
