Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Team of the Journal of Applied Holistic Nursing Science recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore establishes the following policy, which outlines specific actions (penalties) to be taken if plagiarism is identified in an article submitted for publication in the Journal of Applied Holistic Nursing Science.

Definition:
Plagiarism is the act, whether intentional or unintentional, of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or recognition for a scientific work by quoting part or all of another person’s work and/or scientific work that is acknowledged as their own, without properly and adequately stating the source.

Therefore:

  • Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Material taken verbatim from other sources must be clearly identified as different from the original text.
  • If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will take action based on the level of detected plagiarism, following these guidelines:

Plagiarism Levels:

  1. Copying short sentences or phrases from another article without citing the source.
Action: The author will be issued a warning and requested to revise the text and properly cite the source.
  2. Copying most of another article without proper citation and without acknowledging the source.
Action: The submitted article will be rejected for publication in the Journal of Applied Holistic Nursing Science, and the author may face sanctions, including being prohibited from publishing in the journal.

If an author is found to have submitted the manuscript to the Journal of Applied Holistic Nursing Science while simultaneously submitting it to another journal, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, the actions outlined in point 2 above will be applied.

If plagiarism is found outside of the rules stated above, the Journal of Applied Holistic Nursing Science editors have the right to take further actions or sanctions in accordance with the editorial team’s policy.
